The history of my creations and journey so far

More and more I have noticed chemicals being introduced into all aspects of our lives. When synthetic versions of nature are made, or nature is combined with synthetic chemicals – it can have toxic effects. I have seen this happening throughout the the foods we eat, the water we drink, and the air we breathe- feeling powerless to stop it. Then we clean our spaces and homes with more chemicals!

Throughout my life I have been drawn to nature. I have always felt that nature holds the answer to many common problems and imbalances within our bodies and our homes. I have noticed that many medicines and cleaning products harness elements of nature. Hair washing products appear with extracts from plants and herbs. I didn’t like that these secret remedies and solutions were in the hands of companies and not accessible for every day people to use and tailor to our own needs.

I have naturally journeyed towards holistic care and sustainable living; out of concern for the environment, as well as wanting to take care of my families health as the first port of call for physical and emotional support.

Beyond my family's well-being, I have always been drawn to helping others, empowering them to take control of their own well-being; whether spiritually, socially, emotionally, financially, mentally or physically! I have found things in nature helpful to me for addressing imbalances in these areas. But until essential oils I had not found one thing that answered all of my souls calling.

My relationship with essential oils started by utilising a few basic oils around the home such as tea tree, eucalyptus and lavender. I noticed that many people, both naturally minded and not, had these oils in their homes or as additives into their store bought products.

In 2014 I attended a friends a class about essential oils. There I learned and saw for myself the difference between pure essential oils and perfumed or synthetic oils. Many potent helpful properties are harnessed within pure essential oil that are diluted or not present in lower quality oils. I was immediately impressed with the quality of the oils and the ethics of the company.

I signed up as a Wellness Advocate and bought a kit as I could see the value to my family. However I did not immediately get into the oils. I fell pregnant soon after receiving them and did not feel comfortable using them as often as I could have.

The essential oils sat on my shelf for a couple of years. I used them on occasion. I decided I could use them in future work and thought about them often but used them less.

Then I attended a class where I learned how to make cleaning products using the essential oils combined with the ingredients I was already using! I saw a whole new path open before me and my passion and excitement for essential oils and dōTERRA returned.

I used the cleaning products I had made around my home and in my business. I had great results and feedback from clients and I noticed that I loved working with them -such a fresh mood booster!

Encouraged by my success I began making my own recipes using different dōTERRA oils so that I have a full range of cleaning products!

I was so happy with the results that I want to give everybody the same opportunity to use essential oils in their cleaning routine. I started a blog so that I could share my recipes and decided to sell the essential oils so that my readers can make the same quality products that I do.

I decided to put my passion to work and really get on board with the advocacy side of dōTERRA. I want to share my own personal journey with essential oils and empower others to find their own. And so I created Essential Life Empowerment as a space to talk all things essential oils.

My hope as a wellness advocate for dōTERRA is to support healthy habits and well-being by supporting you to use essential oils throughout your life in the way that best suits YOU!

I am proud to advocate for wellness using dōTERRA essential oils. Because they are purely, simply, that good.
