I've had my own professional cleaning business for nearly 8 years, have worked as a cleaner for around 16 years and been a parent nearly 20 years - so I consider myself to have used a lot of vacuum cleaners in that time.

Efficiency and effectiveness and environmentally friendly are my favourite things so I spent a bit of time researching what kind of vacuum cleaner to get for my home and business now that my trusty old Dyson needed replacing.

Most of my review is in comparison to my older model which I loved so much I had two! This is my personal opinion - I am not affiliated with Dyson, I'm just a fan.

So without further ado - here's my review:

👍 Pro - it lifts sooo much dirt and dust! I really was a bit shocked and impressed at how much micro grossness was lifted from my carpets even after we shampooed them with the rug doctor.

👎 Con - it can't get as big of pieces without clogging.

👍 Pro - it's easier to unclog with just one "tunnel" from the head to the tube instead of two.

👎 Con - we need to take the brush out to get to the blockage which requires a 20 cent piece or dessert spoon, which isn't included.

👍 Pro - bagless and easy to empty without getting dust everywhere.

👎 Con - I have no idea how to clean the cyclone barrel which has some micro dirt already because it's so effective.

👍 Pro - no hidden filters and the brush head has it's own filter that wipes off easily.

👎 Con - the brush head doesn't reach edges as easily as my favourite old style of head.

👍 Pro - the edge attachment works brilliantly and doesn't lose suction like all my old useless attachments. It gets deep down in the carpet edges.

👍 Pro - it comes with an attachment holder for two that clicks onto the straight stick so it's quick to change.

👍 Pro - the accessories are varied and relevant from crevices to curtains, to cushions, under stuff and on top.

👍 Pro - when we detach the straight stick the remaining part of the handle is bendy which is easier to manoeuvre into tight spaces.

👎 Con - it's pretty loud compared to a stick version,

👍 Pro - without the brush head it's quieter than my old corded model.

👎 Con - the air is quite hot blowing out the back of the machine, which means I have to take care if little ones are following behind.

👍 Pro - it looks great, slightly less bulky, shiny and beautiful colours.

Overall I'm impressed and really happy with my choice! I'm excited to use it in clients homes once I return from maternity leave!
